I have my summer holidays now. Took 3 exams in my last week of uni, one of which I didn't think I'd pass... well I found out my score for that yesterday... 80% my jaw dropped and stayed down for at least a full minute after that, lol! Amazing!
For these 5 weeks... I am a cleaning lady... cleaning 4 days in a week, some days for 2 hours, some for 4. Oh well, at least I'll have some money for my trip to Croatia in August :D
I got my copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince today. I'm now at page 114... don't want to finish it too soon... but I am scared of spoilers, I really hope no one will post any..

So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to search google with the word 'banana', pick the fifth sentence on the second page it finds, and pick a word from it. That will be the subject of this entry.
'YEAR'
It is a strange thing, time, isn't it? Sometimes it goes by so fast you don't even notice it, and sometimes every minute seems like hours. They say time flies when you're having fun. Occasionally, I have to disagree. Isn't it a heavenly experience when you're having loads of fun, and when you check the clock, you realize you have more time left than you think you did?
Another thing. The years seem to get shorter as you grow older, don't they? I believe most people experience this. Children complain when they have to wait for 5 minutes. For an adult, it's really not very long. For a child, a year is like the ocean, no end of it can be seen. And adults just keep on saying their kids grow up so fast. I have a theory that I think can explain this phenomenon. For kids who are, say, 4 years old, a year is a quarter of their life. But for an adult of 50, it's only 1/50th part of their life. The adult has had so much more experiences in life; the ones from the past year comprise only a small percentage of that. The child, however, has little more experiences than the ones from the past year. Seems believable, doesn't it?
This year of uni did go by fast. And not. A year seems shorter in hindsight than when you're in the middle of it. At least to me. Now, I have one more week left, with 3 exams to pass. Let's hope I will, so I can start the next year fresh, without having to do courses from this year again. For lack of a better ending to this story... I just say: goodbye.

I've been so busy! And all of it was fun! I'm really starting to go out more and transform into the typical 'student' you know. Staying up late, and drinking, not studying enough, and my room is getting messier every day. New friends, hurray! Maybe this way I'll meet my future boyfriend soon :P that would be alright with me. Yes, it's your lucky day. I have come to write in my journal. I'm going to Croatia! Yay for expanding horizons. 6 of my friends are also going so we'll have loads of fun. We're leaving in August. I still need a job though, for the holidays. I'm making new friends in my study coz I'm joining a sort of 'club' for lack of a better word in my head right now. They're pretty cool. I went out with them on monday and tuesday. Then had to catch up on my homework. And the train of life rides on and on without slowing down... I'm too lazy to write more plus the weather is great so tata!

Kay, yesterday, birthday. It was fun! Some friends came by at my new place and we chatted. Then I cooked and we ate with one of my flatmates, then we went to see Kingdom of Heaven. Oh the hotness. Orlando does not really fit into all these historical movies though if you ask me. His face is too smooth, and in this movie his hair was too styled. He should do more modern roles sometime. Did you notice that the sex scene in this movie was ridiculously short? LoL figures I'm the one to note that :P

See, I really want to write interesting blogs, but I'm just not inspired. Sometimes I think of topics when I'm on the bus or something, but I forget and when I'm staring at this livejournal screen my mind goes blank. Argh, so many posts to comment on... so little time. I got back from Vienna yesterday at 11am. Dead tired so I got some sleep. That night I went out to eat with a group of girls I had met on the trip. Good times. Too bad I had no internet access yesterday because it made me miss LAYLA'S BIRTHDAY!! I have a room I have a room!!! Today I was planning to go home (to my parent's house) right after class, but I got an email inviting me to come see another room. At first I was bummed, and didn't even understand why I had sent them a message anyway coz I thought the room was far away. Turns out it's not THAT far, about 15-20 minutes from the center I guess? On a bike that is. Anyway, I didn't feel like going to another room and all, but I did, coz I felt like I couldn't let any chances go by. Good thing I did, coz THEY PICKED ME!! I'll be living with 3 guys there, the room is small but I don't mind. It's also a lot cheaper than the one I'm renting now. Woohoo!
I had bought a new pair of shoes quite a while ago. After wearing them for 2 weeks, one had an actual hole in it, can you believe that. I've been to the store twice but the manager wasn't there and the girls there could only let me pick something else for the 50 euros I had spent on the damn shoes. I wasn't gonna put up with that. Today, while I was away, my dad went to the store and spoke to someone else, and managed to get me my money back! Woohoo again!
Let's see, what else was I feeling sad about. Oh right, school. The report still has to be finished and I couldn't get anything done today coz I got home so late... but I'll be working hard tomorrow and let's hope I can find some motivation by then. Kay this post is long enough now, see you later!!

Guess what... my day eventually did get better yesterday. I went to class and yes, it sucked. I came out and talked to people on msn. They made me feel alright but still, my day sucked. I took the bus home and when I was about to arrive at my bus stop, to make matters worse, rain started pouring down like the angels were having some waterfest in the clouds. But I got out of the bus, and you know what, matters were not worse. It was actually pretty damn funny, the second I stepped out, I was soaked. So I broke into a run home, but my effort to remain dry was in vane. Even though running to my place takes about 2 minutes, I was absolutely soaking wet to the bone. And it was funny. How's that for an unexpected source of cheering up!

Blahhh. I didn't get the place... again. And I forgot to subscribe for something in school and I have loads to do but absolutely NO motivation to do it. Also, I was going to play volley in competition, turns out the first match is on wednesday and I have to work so I can't go. Basically, I feel like crap today. boohoo. Check me out, I'm actually going to be using this journal today.. here goes. I've been searching for a place in Nijmegen for a long time now, and I've been searching harder the past few weeks. I go to this site, where people put rooms that are available, and I send an application. These people get loads of applications in just one day (my guess is around 30-40). They invite about 10-15 people to come and meet them, and out of these people, they pick someone who gets the room eventually. I've been invited a lot lately, which is good, but I haven't been picked, and that is just not good for me. I take the time to go and see the place, meet the people, only to never hear from them again. It's frustrating. I believe I am a fun person to be around and a good flatmate, being turned down makes me doubt myself, so not good. I know it's not really personal and the odds of being chosen are just low, but it's still frustrating. I have my own place near Nijmegen, but I can't go there at night by bike, or quickly drop off my bags or whatever. Also, I have just one girl living in the same house and she keeps to herself a lot. She hasn't even been around at all in the past month! So I'm getting lonely, and I don't even have internet so I can't chat either. That's why I really want another place, quickly. I get another chance tomorrow, I've been invited to go and see yet another place. This one's very near to the center so fingers crossed!
I have to go soon, I'm taking the train to Nijmegen because there's 3 bands playing, and I know one of the rappers of one of the bands. It's a student band competition. I've been to 3 rounds already and I find it quite enjoyable. Who knew we had so much talent in this little country of ours!! One of my best friends is also singer in a band, and she was the reason I became interested. Their band is really good, respect! Let's see how it turns out tonight.
